Retreat Recap

I had a great weekend at the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust Vision and Call intern retreat http://www.murdock-trust.org/enrichment-programs/vision-call-internships.php at Cascades Camp, near Yelm, WA. I joined the leadership team of Terry Stokesbary and Steve Moore from the Trust, Steve Garber from the Washington Institute and Rob McKenna from Seattle Pacific University. About 70 interns and 20 plus advisors representing over twenty ministries from around the greater Northwest participated in a weekend of learning focused on life purpose, direction, passion and decision making.

I was responsible for Small Groups and learning activities. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with young adults in learning/mentoring setting that emphasized growth in leadership with a focus on service and commitment.

it’s about time

this coming weekend i will be at the M. J. Murdock Vision and Call intern retreat at Cascades Camp near Yelm, WA. I have been to the retreat for a number of years as a ministry leader and intern sponsor. Terry Stokesbary and the team do a fantastic job of encouraging and supporting Murdock sponsored interns from around the greater Northwest.

when i faced my recent job transition one of my regrets was that i wouldn’t be a part of the Vision and Call efforts of the Trust. I guess i worried too soon. As i stated i’m going back, but now as a part of the leadership team. it will be great to support the work of the Trust, reconnect with ministry friends, meet new interns and help make it the best weekend possible. my primary responsibilities are to facilitate small group sessions and related active learning sessions. this will be a great opportunity put my passions in practice.

saying goodbye…

last night was the final INN event for me. at least it was the last official event for me. the INN is embodied in people. the memories we share will be held and our relationships will go forward. i don’t think i will ever be able to express all of my joy and thanks for the years shared, but i saw with a full heart and all, thank you!

Great night with Bethany Christian Services
